Hello, Goodbye

This maybe the last post of this blog. Ever. The First of May is the first day of Gormful.com. It’s inception, a necessary step. It’s demise, an inevitable fact. I’m still keeping my fingers crossed, hoping that a favorable sliver of light from The Blue Nowhere shines upon my domain, lest it go on un-renewed. Will I come back in case the renewal process is unsuccessful? Maybe. It all depends on how my physiology will adapt with my new work environment.

Anyway, during the days I was not posting anything here, I’ve been keeping tabs with the ongoing football matches. Soccer, that is. I’m still calling it football. Here’s what I found out:

That Watford stinks. Those yellow-shirts are exactly the same color as their belly. Yellow. They don’t play football. They play boxing. Or wrestling. Any single opposing player simply goes down for the count whenever they get in contact with ANY Watford player. Especially Priskin. I don’t care if I didn’t spell his name right. He doesn’t deserve his name to be spelled correctly. Even noted divers don’t have to dive when they’re playing the yellow-bellies.

That playing in Atletico Bilbao’s court could be your last game ever. The Bilbao fans are worse than Watford. A lot of debris has been thrown at Real Madrid’s goalie during their match. Why were the fans throwing stuff at the goalie? Because Bilbao was down 3-0. Cicinho even picked up something that would look like a steel bar the length of a palm. When he was about to report it, one of the Bilbao players tried to stop him and confronted him. Maybe the Bilbao player thought Cicinho was about to attack him with it. I guess that player believes in karma. The only player I can see worse than Priskin is Urzaiz. A hitter AND a diver, the personification of what a football player should NEVER be. All in all, they’re just a bunch of divers and boxers. Poor van Nistelrooy was the primary receiver of all the punches and kicks when Madrid was playing Bilbao.

So far, those are the only teams that I think should never be given a chance to play in any league at all. I have yet to see all the teams currently playing in various leagues.

Man U and Chelsea are the first teams that gave me quite an impression. With Real Madrid, of course. I just don’t know how good Madrid will be now that Roberto Carlos has retired from playing any league, except the World Cup. With Beckham’s yellow card while playing against Bilbao, he will surely be missed when Madrid plays Seville.

Rooney scored the winning goal against Milan on the 91st minute of play, which led them to the FA Cup Final in the first leg of the UEFA Champions league semis. ManU, upon winning against Watford, has secured a finals berth against Chelsea, who won against the Rovers by Essien’s winning goal to break the tie on the 90th minute.

Who will win the £1,000,000 FA Cup? Let’s just wait and see. As for this blog, well, let’s just hope it lasts long enough for me to post my post-game commentaries. Would you like to cross your fingers too?

It’s Pacman in 8 Rounds by KO!

Yes. He won. Not because he wanted to, but he needed to. As a lot of people already know, the Pacman is running for Congress in his hometown in Gensan.

Well, let’s just think about it for a while. Yes, I know some of you are simply sick and tired of reading a lot of blogs and sites delivering the news that he won and how great a boxer he is. Just humor me for just one second.

So why would he need to win? Well, if you think about it, in which we are already doing, or at least I am, if he lost the fight, would he lose his bid for Congress? Definitely. He would be letting down a lot of people if he lost. A lot of people would lose confidence in the “great” boxer. Although they’d still be shouting, “We will regain the title!” it would still be what’s inside that counts. Can anyone tell me honestly that if Pacquiao lost, would they still support his Congressional bid because they still have faith in him? Of course people would still have faith in him. BUT not as much when he was winning.

So in the end, Pacquiao, even if he doesn’t want to win, needs to win, because he said he wants to serve his people. And Filipinos are well known for the “let’s wait and see” attitude, then run the person over with hails of rocks because he falls short of what the people expect.

Whatever.

Easter, No Fish, and a whole lot of sleep

It’s been a while since my last post, and during the time I wasn’t online (I can’t believe it myself), I had a chance to reflect on things. Well, it’s not really a reflection but more of trying to make sense of something incomprehensible, at least, in the beginning.

For example, what does a bunny have to do with Easter, in which all Catholics know as the resurrection of Jesus and the deliverance from sin. Well, at least, that’s what they taught us in school. A bunny on one hand, and redemption on the other. It’s not quite balanced, is it. Even if the rabbit is made entirely of chocolate. It is mouth-watering to just think about a big chunk of chocolate, even if it’s shaped as a cute bunny-rabbit. It’s still not balanced. What other people would say is that it’s all a marketing ploy to commercialize something solemn as influenced by a capitalist government. They may be right.

Another thing that would bug me is the fact that there are going to be Easter egg hunting events. Where do Easter eggs come from? From the Easter bunny? Since when did rabbits lay eggs?! And people painting over the eggs to make it colorful, it’s not natural. There just isn’t an egg that was originally made with stripes. Pink stripes. That hen better have pink stripes too.

The lies that our parents taught us as true when we were little really had no positive effect on us when we grew up. Luckily for me, my parents never believed in the Easter bunny or Easter eggs. Otherwise, I would have ended up believing in something useless. Think about it. What does a bunny give you besides a full stomach? There is no spiritual, moral, economical or financial relevance to the Easter Bunny. Well, there is an economical relevance. It does help retailers and capitalists to earn from it by selling a 250 gram chocolate Easter Bunny for about $15 to $20, with the only difference from a chocolate bar worth about $3 is that it is shaped like a bunny.
