I purchased the Sylvania G Netbook on TigerDirect today which runs gOS. At checkout I was offered to bundle a copy of Microsoft Office 2007 with my purchase as a “must have” accessory. I didn’t get it, because OpenOffice works just fine for me, but do you know if gOS can run Microsoft Office? I didn’t think it could, but when TigerDirect offered it to me I second guessed myself. Now I don’t know what to beleive.

@Aaron: It seems that, based on the log, the logical unit, which I’m assuming is the hard drive partition, is having some issues (probably some bad clusters/sectors or something). Try downloading a new copy of the ISO of gOS and save it in another folder/partition/drive and then try re-burning it. Thanks for dropping by.

I installed gOS before and loved it, but soon missed the blue windows xp taskbar(i dont kno y, its ugly). but now wen i try burning the iso of gOS Rocket, i get the following messege using imgburn:

ah I see.. I was just wondering why you didn’t post about that above as a solution for using Windows Apps on Linux OS.

@vance: I’m sure it will, but WINE is unstable in itself (I have yet to succesfully launch a Windows-based app using it). gOS is basically Ubuntu 7.10 using a customized Enlightenment window manager. That’s basically it.

@Carlo: I’m sure you will. It just doesn’t have the Genie effect though. Nor Expose. I’m sure sooner or later someone will make something that mimics it.

I wonder how Microsoft will market Windows 7. LOL. I’ve downloaded gOS but haven’t installed it yet. Still looking for a machine to install it to. Basing on the pictures of the gOS GUI, i think I am gonna like it.
