WP-Theme: ShutterView
ShutterView is a theme intended for bloggers that want to display a photo gallery alongside their blog entries. It shows a random image beside the posts. The number of posts that appear on the front page is limited to one. However, you can edit the code so that it uses WordPress’s default settings. The posts also don’t wrap the image when the height of the post is longer than the image. The theme is integrated with a modified PhotoPress.
This theme has been tested and proven to work in WordPress 2.1.1 2.1.2. If you are going to try it out in other versions and receive any errors, please contact me at will [at] gormful [dot] com with as much detail (e.g. PHP version, MySQL version, browser, error messages, etc.) as possible.
Manage everything: blog posts, pages, and pictures, all from just one site. Your site. Give it a whirl and see it swirl.
Installation:
- Download ShutterView with the integrated modified PhotoPress package here.
- Extract the files/folders.
- Upload the ShutterView folder to your themes folder (e.g. http://yourdomain/wp-content/themes/).
- Activate ShutterView from the Themes page.
- Change the permissions of the photos sub-folder found in the ShutterView folder to 777. If you don’t know how to change permissions of a folder/file, click here.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you are using Photopress before and want to use this theme, deactivate the plugin first before activating this theme. Failure to do so will result in errors.

- In the Administration Page, go to Manage > PhotoPress.
- Click on Maintain.

Update:
The appearance has been updated and the files have been cleaned up. ShutterView 1.0 is now available for download here.
If you find any bugs in the theme or plugin, simply leave a comment here or drop a line at will [at] gormful [dot] com.
Update 2:
WordPress 2.2 now has built-in Widgets. With the known issue of PhotoPress and Widgets clashing, I would not recommend using this theme with the latest version of WP. I haven’t tried it and won’t be developing the theme anymore. As far as I’m concerned, the theme is fine the way it is with WP 2.1.3. If you want to continue to develop this theme, a backlink would be greatly appreciated.
Happy Hunting!

UPDATE 09-24-2007:
This theme is no longer supported and will not be developed further as time becomes more scarce in my line of work. If you want to pick up where I left off, please feel free to drop me a line at will [at] gormful [dot] com. Thank you for using this theme.
