Buzzer Beater

September is almost over and the Holidays are looming just over the horizon. As one may have already noticed, I've changed the theme recently. As much as I would like to take credit for it, I can't. This theme was created by Scott Wallick and all his works can be found at PLAINTXT.ORG. His minimalistic works are simply (quoting Ade) TEH AWESOMENESS. Very simple and light themes for the minimalist blogger. There is a theme that I am currently working on. I'm just ironing out the kinks. A lot of the kinks. Head's already spinning from reading a lot of code. Also, as my son was recently born, I have yet to find a way to post regularly again. I am, however, having a hard time finding anything sensible to write about. I will be posting some pics I took when Milenyo hit the Philippines. The power's still out and there wouldn't be any way for me to upload the pics from my phone unless I hack into my station in the office (for everything personal is forbidden) and connect all my gadgets. *SIGH* The only thing sensible that comes to mind is the Dinig Sa Guimaras Benefit Concert to be held at Bela Bar, Wilson cor. P. Guevarra in Greenhills, San Juan. It is organized by my good friends Joe and Roy.

Event starts at around 7 PM tonight. You can read Roy's article about it here. If you have the time, please do come over to Bela tonight. I am assuring you it will all be worth it. The event was also recognized here.

Online Music. On demand. Free.

Just discovered a music website that lets you play streaming audio on demand for free. A great way to relieve stress for at least a few minutes. BlogMusik.net Registration is free. You can still play music even if you're not registered. However, you won't be able to save your playlist. The interface is pretty neat too. Sound quality is good but would need improvement, but hey, it's still free. It sure beats having to purchase music online.

DRT Album Launch

Taken from DRT.ph:
DRT, the premiere hard rock band from the Philippines was formed by the remnants of big name bands of the 90s. In the middle of 2003 while at Sanctum, a classy, artsy hang-out in the old Spanish fort of Intramuros, singer Jay Ortega noticed that he was in the midst of stalwart musicians namely Manuel Legarda, Miguel Ortigas and Paulo Pacia who were all at the time freelancing in the extensive local music scene. Jay approached Miguel with the idea of getting the guys together to form a new band and thus DRT was born. A few rehearsals later and the gang played venues all over the metropolis, namely the Rock Radio Cafe in Alabang, Peligro in Makati and even the 70s Bistro in Quezon City as well as Sanctum in Manila. Miguel on drums, Manuel on guitars, Paulo on bass and Jay on vocals, soon wrote and recorded a few demos which later mutated into a much larger sound with the introduction of Martin Jamora on the keyboards.

And I’m Sailin’…

Should have been Could have been Would have been dead If I didn't get the message Goin' to my head I am What I am Most motherf*ckers Don't give a damn
Sorry about that. I feel so tired I have to let some stress out. There's just too damn much work going on around. It's like crap. They are everywhere. Which reminds me, there was this episode of Mythbusters wherein they attempted to bust the myth that crap is everywhere. So they held an experiment to see if crap can get to a toothbrush via the air we breathe. They set up a toilet where 8 or 10 toothbrushes were left and near the sink of the toilet and that they used the toilet like they should. They also kept it clean. After many moons, they tested the toothbrushes for fecal coliform, which is scientific for "crap in the air." The results were positive. The toothbrushes had fecal coliform. What shocked them was the two toothbrushes outside the toilet. It had a cover and everything, and when they tested it for fecal coliform, it tested positive. IT TESTED POSITIVE. There you have it folks. There are just some things people should leave unproved. CRAP is EVERYWHERE.

Jimi Thing

Nodding my head, in time to the beat...falsetto voicing...ultimately cool, that's how it feels. "If you could keep me floating, just for a while..." Shouldn't care...bereaved as I'm feeling...hoping it was me playing the guitar...at least I am...for now... Song ends. Back to reality.
