WP-Theme: Integrati 1.0

In my previous post regarding [tag]themes[/tag] and getting back into the habit of making one, I decided to create another [tag]WordPress[/tag] theme. Well, it wasn't created from scratch. Although a lot of the styling information has changed, the theme is made based on the great K2 and one of my personal favorites, Squible. K2's backend, upon looking at the code, is very impressive. So impressive that it taught me a lot in designing a theme's backend. However, I wanted something simpler. Simple enough that I don't have to tweak most of the code, if not all of it. So I looked at Squible, remembering it was the first theme that introduced me to PHP and WordPress theme creation. I also admired how Theron Parlin and James Carppe, Squible's authors, integrated a lot of stuff in it. That niftybox is so...nifty. It's just that the theme wasn't valid XHTML and the loading time, due to the AJAX-powered livesearch, was taking too long for my taste. Also, I can't make some of the plugins to work, like Extended Live Archives. And then it hit me. Why not combine the two themes into one, just without the configuration page. I also thought about integrating a lot of the plugins that this theme would be using, but I can't. So basically, what I tried to do is put together the styles of both themes, integrate the features that I can, and test it. It's been brewing since last week and now I'm happy to announce that the theme is ready for public use.

XGL & Beryl: A Vista Nightmare

Can your Desktop do this?

This is what my Desktop will look like after I'm done tweaking my Edgy Vaio. This, I promise to myself. Sweet! After trying the new shiny on my Edgy Vaio, I found out that my video card won't be able to handle the rendering of XGL/Beryl. Another promise broken. *sigh*

Hey, Keysi!

Thanks, ma meyng! I can now upload from WP, as the proof is below:

It all boiled down to logging in using FTP. From there, I was able to see the attributes. BUT, what I did was a voodoo fix for this issue since it doesn't really solve the problem, and come November, I will be doing the same thing. So it works. For now. Carlo and the gang at Technoville IT Solutions are looking into it now and hopefully, they'll be able to resolve this issue by tomorrow. What I want to know is, what caused this issue. Maybe the aliens are coming. Or Dust Puppies are taking over the world.
