Social Network’s Dilemma

Social Networking Applications are great. Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, and all the social network sites are encouraging its users to share something with the community. It's basically sharing what you have in order to (hopefully) contribute to the community, on- and off-line. However, there are some applications that seems to be evolving and changing for the worse, as new social network applications tend to get information a user might not be comfortable sharing with the world.

Xobni Insight and Outlook

I am not really a big fan of Outlook. I practically loathe Microsoft products, and if only I can liberate myself from Microsoft's stranglehold of the Enterprise Application industry, I would. And for me to do that, I would have to resign from a job that pays the bills. If I can blog full time, and earn a decent living out of it, I would have done that a long time ago, but alas, it was not meant to be. At least, not yet. Anyway, Xobni has just released an invite-only beta software that adds on Outlook's features, making it better. This new add-on, called Xobni Insight, is touted the social networking software for email. The following is my take on their features.

WordPress Blogs: The Next Social Network?

Anne Zelenka of GigaOM posted an article about WordPress becoming the next social networking profile, which basically makes me think about my blog and it becoming a social network. The article talks about blogs in general, and WordPress as the platform in particular, as a social network. Although it wasn't mentioned in the article, I'm assuming that they were referring to the WordPress application and not the WordPress.com "free blog" site. Anne did a good job in pointing out the trend that is currently happening in social networking circles.
