Manage Tags, et al on WordPress 2.5

WordPress developers have finally decided to include a management page for tags, and it will be bundled in the upcoming version 2.5 of WordPress. It was developed initially using the Advanced Tag Entry plugin, but Christine's plugin already does most of the tag management needs. It would make sense if they just slapped Christine's plugin into the core. In addition to the tag management page being developed to be included to the core, the Uploader is also being redesigned. I checked out the ticket and there has been significant changes to the code of the Uploader. Other changes and updates, as reported by Westi, simply went over my head as it doesn't make any sense to me. Shows how much I know about WordPress development and PHP stuff, which is almost non-existent. Anyway, there's a $5000 bounty offered by Calais to the plugin developer that would create a WordPress plugin that will suggest semantic tags, among other things. IMHO, this is another great reason to start developing for WordPress. A lot of cool stuff going into the development of WordPress 2.5, which makes me wish I focused on programming a long time ago.

It may be late, and no one asked, but I'm still posting what I think about this Thing. Coz Christine said I can. ****** Unbeknownst to many, I was one of the lucky few to test drive Christine from the Internet's shiny new Thing before it was publicly released. The recently released UTW Theme Compatibility Thing (UTW-TCT) is now publicly available. Finally. I've been itching to write about this Thing since Christine let me play with it. But of course, it has to do what it was supposed to do before the masses sink their teeth into it. So what does this Thing actually do?

Plugin Update

And I thought I was finished with my plugins. I now realize that as long as WordPress keeps evolving, my plugins need to do the same too. However, the update to my plugins Technorati Tags and Technorati Tag Cloud, both for WordPress 2.3+ are not related to WordPress evolving once again. These updates are more related to me being a noob and not realizing that although tag search results may seem to be similar, it is, in fact, VERY different from each other.
