To Twit or Not To Twit

Not really a question. Just wanted to know if I should twit. I mean twit actively. In a previous post, I mentioned that
I tried adding Twitter updates, but I later thought, what for? It’s one more thing I have to update, and it needs CONSTANT updating, and with how often I update my blog, I don’t think it’s gonna be worth following. It just makes me scratch my head. Maybe that’s what I’ll input there and I don’t think “Scratching my head thinking of what to blog about…” is very appealing when it’s the only update in there. Besides, why would anyone want everyone to know that they’re feeling gassy at the moment. I think flame wars are more interactive in Twitter than in your post’s comments. But a lot of people are using it. Constantly. So I guess I’ll just have to look into it.
so that's what I'm doing now. Looking into twitting. If people are following your twits, would they want to know what your twits are every second? Every minute? Every hour? How frequent should you twit? If I'm gonna twit that I'm just "breathing right now," would people want to know about that? You twitted, therefore you are alive, therefore you are breathing, so it's a stupid twit. A VERY stupid twit. If I'm gonna twit that I'm "taking a dump," wouldn't that be weird since I would be in the john, taking care of business, with a laptop, which I think would be too gross for me, and too much information on people following my twits. If I'm gonna twit that I'm "drunk FUBAR, puking my brains out, hugging the toilet bowl," it's the same thing as the previous twit. Not to mention, unrealistic. Is this what Twitter is about? A reality show on the net, only with text? I don't think I'd make a great show if I was Truman. Nor will I fare well with other contestants of any reality-based contest. Then there's the vanity side of twittering. I am cool, follow me. Not just follow, do what I do. I am the place where the buck stops. I am the ultimate. I am perfect. Nope. It just doesn't work for me. Is there an SEO-side of twits? If there is, well, the keywords are generated for you, if you put updates of other people's twits. I'm a noob when it comes to SEO, but I know that SEO is not just about generating keywords. And no, I'm not into SEO. So if there is an SEO advantage on twits, it still wouldn't change my mind. Besides, if I really wanted SEO, I'd cram this blog with nonsensical paragraphs of the most used keywords and become utterly useless to (accidental) visitors. So is it all that bad? Not really. If my office requires me that I notify my supervisors of what I'm doing, THAT would motivate me to update my Twitter and tell my supervisors to just follow it instead of bugging me on the phone or email. Thank God I don't have to resort to that. Yet. But that's the only good I can think of for twits. Other than that, it's all a big waste of spare time I can use on surfing the web or reading webcomics, which incidentally is also a waste of time. Still, there will be no twits here. For now.
