Xmas Wish List Addendum
What is the plural of addendum? Addenda? Anyway, my previous article listed things you can buy for your geeky loved one for Christmas. Those things have a price range from practical to extravagant. Does cost matter when you're buying something for your loved one? For me, not really. I just don't like seeing what I bought that cost an arm and a leg to simply gather dust in the corner after about a week or so. As long as the gift keeps giving for a long time, I consider that money well-spent.
No matter how much I try to avoid saying it, I just can't help it. After the previous article, I simply have to say "BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!"
Here is my personal wish list this coming Christmas, just to make sure I'm not being vague or anything. One can consider this a list of personal goals to achieve. You can help end my life-long pursuit of one of these goals. If you're generous enough, that is.
Books by Neil Gaiman
I already have American Gods and Coraline and have read them, of course. I have yet to acquire copies of Anansi Boys and Neverwhere, as I have read them already and want copies for posterity's sake. The priority in acquiring them, however is the lowest. I have scans of the Sandman Books, but as any bookworm would say, nothing beats the original.
A Memory of Light by Robert Jordan
Also a book, it is the twelfth and final book in the epic Wheel of Time, as the dearly-beloved author has passed away but never forgot about the multitude of fans eagerly awaiting his genius literary works. So in the event that the book comes out, I'll be making sure I get a copy of it. Hardcover preferred, but not required.
A black 160GB iPod Video
Even if my phone, a Sony Ericsson W710i, satiates my music lust, it can only hold so much (2GB and still not enough). So I would like to get an iPod with the largest capacity available. It will also serve as my personal video player that would host tons of videos that are inappropriate to be hosted on a family PC. Cranial Males would know what I mean.
A very nice Tennis Shoe
Particularly, a Diadora Speed Pro. I've been looking for sports shops that distributes Diadora, only to find out that they only carry casual/walking shoes and a very limited selection of tennis shoes. Sheesh.
A really nice Futsal Shoe
I like Diadora. However, I don't have a single Diadora item in my wardrobe yet. But I want this, a Diadora Maracana ID, and as soon as it is available here in Manila, I'll make sure I get one.
A good pair of sneakers
A pair of black Adidas Gazelle, that is. Mine is all worn out and needs to be retired. Hope there's someone out there that knows someone that can give me a big discount for a pair. Anyone?
A good pair of jeans
Of course, it's not just a pair of jeans that I want. It's a pair of Engineered Jeans from Levi's. Kinda pricey, but I like the concept of wearing something tailored to my movement. I have two pairs already, but one of them is gonna be retiring real soon if I don't get a new one. But for practicality's sake, a pair of Detroit Lee jeans would suffice. As long as it's not pink.
A couple of shirts
I have gotten so used to wearing Old Navy shirts that whenever I shop at other brands, I tend to compare the other brand to Old Navy. Old Navy Ringer shirts preferred, but other styles will do.
Another notebook
I'm quite satisfied with BB that I don't mind getting it cloned. For a geek, there's no such thing as having too much technology.
A free-for-life broadband connection
Well, that's what all geeks wish. A variation of it would be affordable yet fast (as in 5Mbps fast) Internet connection. With the technology in the Philippines sometimes taking one step forward and two steps back, one can only wish.
A Canon Speedlite 430EX Flash
That would be for my Canon EOS 350D. This would surely put the icing on the cake. A diffuser included is surely most welcome.
A 64GB Compact Flash card
It might not be available yet, but this will also be another great addition to Cap. I'm officially dubbing my Canon EOS 350D as Cap. As in "capture the moment." I simply can't refer to it as Canon EOS 350D always. But anyway, as with technology, there's no such thing as too much memory.
And that about wraps it up for my personal wish list this coming Christmas. I hope someone out there is reading this and is feeling generous enough to give me one of the items listed above.
